Little Sheep Brooch / Fridge Magnet
This is our new little sheep that we are going to make into a brooch or a Fridge magnet, they are made with Porcelain. To make the sheep I press the clay into a mould, scrape any excess clay away, and then dab a piece of clay on the back of the sheep to lift it out of the mould. The sheep is then left to dry, fettled, then painted with black underglaze on the sheep for the legs, eyes and ears. Now they are ready for a 1000˚c firing (Bisque). Once they are bisque fired, the black underglaze is set and will not bleed when the over-glaze is brushed on. Clear glaze will be applied and then refired at 1160˚c.
